Desktop and Server Linux


Possibly the most famous Linux distribution, Redhat have achieved an excellent reputation for reliability. They have also invested a lot of time in developing and spreading Linux and were responsibile for the invention of the RPM (Redhat Package Manager) software installation system that has been declared the standard Linux distribution system.


Suse must hold the record for the most comprehensive Linux box set with over 3000 applications included on 7 C.D.s and 1 DVD in their SuSE Linux 7.3 Professional distribution. SuSE have also provided more documentation than anyone could reasonably expect and all this for under £60. Mandrake Linux has achieved a reputation for ease of use and represents the simplest path for Windows users looking to switch over to Linux. Mandrake's easy to use configuration tools and excellent Mandrake Expert online support service makes this the most recommended choice for newcomers
